Image via WikipediaWhat you should know about Tallinn taxi's. 1. If you have a smartphone go to m.1taxo.eu select "share my location" and the app will show you the nearest available taxi. The app has also a normal web browser version at http://1taxo.eu/
2.If you don't have a mobile then stop a passing taxi.
3. When sitting in a taxi look at the price list it has to be in english and estonian on a yellow paper on the side windows at the back. Ask first how much would it cost to get you where you want to go.
4. NEVER take taxis which are in the beginning of Viru street or a waiting around Tallinn Old Town because you will be charged at least 10 fold.
5. Taxi's from the Airport or Harbour to the centre DO NOT COST more than 150EEK (it is only 8 km from the airport to the center of Tallinn) if you are asked more just leave the taxi, if you have luggage and can not leave then ask for the receipt and call 112 and ask for the police to come.
